Jumping off point

I got a call from an old friend I haven't seen in probably 10 years, Varden Lapan. He's going to be in Dallas for a wedding and is going to swing down to Austin. It makes you think about how much things have changed in 10 years. I've graduated high school, graduated college, got a job, got married, bought a house, had two kids, etc. So on one level we are total strangers. But on another level is some kind of bond that transcends time. Varden is both a stranger and one of my best friends, and somehow there is no contradiction in that.

My last post was in December. Interestingly enough my son was born Jan 5. Cooincidence? I think not.

Hopefully now that things are settled down a bit I will make entries on my normal semi-irregular pace instead of my never pace.
